I am so excited to finally share this post with you all as the first party on my blog this year!!! This project was near and dear to my heart because it was a party hosted for Brittany Gidley’s fur baby Henry! Keep reading for all the sweet details from this sprinkle donut party for dogs!
If you have followed me long enough, then you already know that Brittany’s pups have had some pretty epic parties in the past, like this Tropical Pool Party we hosted a few years ago for Henry’s brother, Harvey.
Brittany knew she wanted a party theme just as vibrant and playful as Henry’s personality, so she decided on a donut party with lots of bright sprinkles. The color scheme was inspired by the Meri Meri Sprinkles line of paper partyware, which provided the perfect jumping off point for the rest of the details.
Perhaps my favorite element of the party design was creating the sprinkle wall backdrop! This simple and inexpensive showpiece was made from balloons that are typically used for balloon animals. I simply filled the balloons halfway and cut off the excess to create the sprinkle shapes to attach to the wall.
Next I focused on setting the table! I never knew just how fun it would be to throw a dog party, but with access to gourmet treats from local pet stores, I approached styling the same way I would a regular dessert table by utilizing classic serving pieces in varying heights to create visual interest with the treats we were serving.
At the center of the table, I stacked sprinkle donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts. I cut a “one” topper with my silhouette for the birthday boy to use for some “smash cake photos”. I also included frosted dog donuts from Oliver and Henry’s and some sprinkle bones from Pet People.
I filled in the rest of the details with regular puppy treats, an apothecary jar of tennis balls, a box filled to the brim with donut dog toy favors, and a personalized letter board sign that read “Henry’s Donut Bar. The sprinkle plates were used to serve the treats to the pups and the paper cups made it easy to give them water too.
You see, Henry is quite the social butterfly and quickly made friends with all of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in his downtown Cleveland building. So this party wasn’t just for photos, it actually was a real party with his best friends. All of the pups were so well behaved and really enjoyed playing with the balloons, eating the treats and fetching their new dog toys!
Brittany describes Henry as the “sprinkles on top of an already sweet life.” He brings pure joy, energy and a zest for life everywhere he goes and it was so much fun spending the day watching him play with his friends at his party!
