Superbowl Sunday is just a few days away and I thought it would be the perfect time to share the First Down Football Birthday Party I styled a few months ago. While this party was hosted for a little boy’s birthday, many of the ideas could easily be replicated for a Superbowl party for those of you who are hosting this weekend!
The party was hosted at an indoor practice sports facility, which provided the perfect space for a group of active boys to run around and play! I know I have shared this before, but I am a boy momma of two sports loving boys, so we have hosted countless birthday parties at indoor practice facilities before. I love that the space is authentically sporty and it is a bonus that the staff typically runs all the activities and takes care of cleanup once the party is over.
I kept the party menu simple by ordering pizza for the boys, and then focused my energy on styling a game day dessert buffet. Some of the treats included a buttercream football cake, vanilla cupcakes with themed toppers and custom football cookies. But like most of my parties, it was the props that brought the party theme to life. I styled the dessert stand with a custom game day sign, a black and white striped table runner, printable pennants, , faux turf and more.
I tried not to go overboard with decor and put an emphasis on including items that the boys could reuse, like the Gatorade bottle favors with each guests game. The great thing about this party theme is that it can work for all ages, from a 1st birthday, to a tween party, or even a Superbowl party.
Thanks for checking out our latest party. I hope you are inspired by this simple and classic take on a boy’s football party theme!
