It is safe to say that I LOVE a good party theme. So when Brittany Gidley approached me about her idea for a Greatest Adventure Bridal Shower for her future sister-in-law, I jumped at the opportunity to help bring her vision to life!
You see, Brittany’s brother Devin met his bride-to-be while on a business trip and soon after, they traveled to a quaint town in Mexico, San Miguel de Allende, where they fell in love. Over the course of dating one another, they spent countless hours on FaceTime with each other since they were from different countries, but what connected them most, was their shared love of travel and exploring new places together.
“The bridal shower for Devin and Fer marked the first time our families would be coming together, so I thought a travel theme would be fitting since so many loved ones were traveling from near and far to be there for this day, “ says Brittany, the proud sister-in-law-to-be, “Plus this party theme helped to capture how travel played such a big part in their love story.”
Now to dive into the bridal shower details! Brittany hosted the bridal shower in her downtown Cleveland penthouse apartment with a clean white color pallet, soaring industrial ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Cleveland skyline.
Brittany and I decided to keep the shower colors neutral, with just a hint of French blue woven throughout the linens, florals and glassware. The table was set with ceramic blue plates, copper flatware, rosé filled pressed glass goblets and wooden cutting boards adorned with personalized travel printables and hand-painted macarons.
The gorgeous dusty blue gauze table runner from Party Crush Studio provided the perfect underlay for the lush floral centerpeice by Ashley’s Floral that included ivory and blush roses, blue thistle and silver dollar eucalyptus.
When it came to desserts, Brittany was not messing around! She decided to forgo a traditional cake in lieu of a donut and cupcake bar (YES please!) We used a vintage desk and bookshelf for the dessert display, which was decorated with a custom DIY Balloon Garland Kit, a crochet table overlay, loose flowers, wrapped travel books, champagne and various cake stands filled with assorted gourmet donuts and cupcakes!
One of my personal favorite elements was the hand-lettered globe that Brittany commissioned for the party, that not only served as a fun party detail, but is now a piece that Fer and Devin can display in their home as newlyweds.
