The biggest football game of year is almost here! With a husband and two sons that are sports fanatics, Super Bowl Sunday is basically like another holiday in our house. I love nothing more than a good excuse to entertain friends, indulge in game day snacks, watch the commercials and halftime show, oh and I guess the game is fun to watch too.
I recently partnered with Drees Homes to style their Finely model home in Westlake, Ohio for a football game watch party complete with snacks galore, local beverages and lots of game day decor. If you are hosting a Super Bowl party this year, there are plenty of ways to level up your entertaining game, so keep reading for some of my tried-and-true party planning tips!
Serve quintessential game day favorites.
There’s no need to reinvent the wheel for your party menu when game day finger foods and appetizers are beloved by pretty much everyone! Store bought sandwiches, wings and pizza are great staples to pair with homemade dips, accompanied by chips and other healthy dipping options.
Think presentation.
I always say, it is not necessarily what you serve, but how you serve it that makes it feel extra special. Consider taking a few extra minutes to plate store bought wings on a tray with a variety of veggies and dipping sauces, which instantly elevates the feel of this game day dish. Another way to dress up your appetizers is by adding cute food picks to tie in the football theme.
Support local.
Whether it is beer from a local brewery, or wings from a local mom and pop restaurant, consider supporting local businesses when planning your Super Bowl party. Not only do local business owners appreciate the support, but it also allows your guests to experience local flavors too!
Get in the spirit.
Themed banners and printable signs are an inexpensive and fun way to add some flair to your party. Some of the items I included in my party decor included, a drink local sign, burlap game day banner, and some DIY printable pennants I found on Etsy. It’s simple, easy and a cute way to incorporate the football theme.
Hope you all have a great Super Bowl Sunday! Although our Cleveland Browns didn’t make it to the big game this year (there’s always 2023!), we will be rooting for the neighboring Ohio team in the Super Bowl: LET’S GO BENGALS!
