We have been in our new home for a little over six months now, and I keep pinching myself with each new season that rolls around that offers new opportunities for entertaining! Nothing says Easter quite like a beautiful spring brunch with family and friends, so today I wanto share a few of my tried-and-true tips for hosting an easy and stylish Easter brunch. A special thank you to Drees Homes for sponsoring this post (and building our beautiful home!), as well as Heinen’s Grocery Stores, who made planning my brunch menu a breeze with their ready-made items!
1. Incorporate classic dinnerware layered with seasonal pieces.
If you already own classic white dinnerware, give your place settings a seasonal twist by incorporating floral print linens, bunny figurines, fresh florals, and cute signage. It also helps to pick a color or pattern as your inspiration point to keep your design cohesive.
2. Set your table ahead of time.
This allows you to thoughtfully style and decorate your tablescape, and also saves on the day of the party. It is helpful to lay out your empty food platters and cake stands on the table, that way you already know exactly where each food item needs to be placed, making set-up a breeze in the morning.
3. Entertain near the kitchen.
The kitchen is always the heart of the home during gatherings, so I love that my Drees Homes dining room is adjacent from my kitchen, which makes it easy to entertain without missing a beat with my company. I typically use my kitchen island as the “buffet” to set out food and beverages when we hosting a party, allowing guests to help themselves, or keep nibbling after the meal is done and they are simply mingling in the kitchen.
4. Create a menu featuring ready-made grocery store items.
I turned to my favorite local grocery store, Heinen’s to source bakery items, along with heat and serve egg souffle bites from their frozen section, yogurt parfaits, and fresh, seasonal berries and fruit. Try to prep as much of the food ahead of the time as you can, such as washing and cutting the fruit, or assembling the yogurt parfaits the night before. Then all you will need to do is pop the frozen egg souffles in the oven, and plate the food before guests arrive in the morning.
5. Display your brunch food as part of the tablescape.
Incorporating food into your tablescape helps add to fullness to the design, and also makes it easier for guests to serve themselves throughout the party. Be sure to use platters and cake stands in varying heights to create visual interest.
I hope you find these tips helpful for hosting a stylish and easy Easter brunch celebration. Happy brunching!
