As a follow-up to our Valentine’s Day Playdate post from last week, I wanted to talk a little more about Valentine’s Day cards and girly gift ideas today. When I styled the Valentine’s Day playdate, I had so much fun coming up with creative favors, cards and gifts, so I thought I would share a closer look at each of these for anyone looking for ideas ahead of Valentine’s Day next week!
First up, I know many parents (like me!) scramble the night before Valentine’s Day to put together class cards for our kids to give out to their classmates. Years ago, I used to always do a card with a little treat attached, but our school district recently changed their food policy in school, so we are unable to send in anything edible anymore. I was worried that it would be difficult to still come up with something cute that kids would actually be excited about, but thanks to my friend Jen at Minor Details CLE, she helped open my eyes to the world of creative Valentine’s Day cards using adorable beauty items and hair bows!
Jen creates custom handcrafted paper goods and gifts, and came up with small cards with cute sayings to attach to the back of lip gloss and nail polish from Townley Girl. One of the details also featured a cute winking face adorned with a hair bow from Mae and Melon. The girls absolutely loved giving and receiving these cute Valentine’s Day cards at the playdate. You can get our own by shopping Jen’s collection in her shop!
Next, I worked with my friends at Give Gifted to come up with the perfect party favors for the party. The owners just so happen to have four daughters between them, so I heard their mini CEOs-in-training were part of the team that developed the cute Valentine’s Day party favors! We used mini heart boxes found at Target and filled them with a makeup pallet cookie (with a real makeup brush) from Little Red Bird Custom Cookies, and lip gloss and nail polish from Townley Girl.
The ladies at Give Gifted also put together an adorable girly spa gift basket that would make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for any young girl. The basket was filled with fuzzy slippers, a sequin eye mask, loofah, mani/pedi essentials from Townley Girl, an XOXO notepad with a lipstick pen, a makeup pallet cookie and more! Be sure to visit Give Gifted for all of your creative gifting needs!
Whether you are putting together class Valentine’s Day cards or looking for gift ideas for a special little girl in your life, I hope this post helps provide some inspiration!
