Graduation season is upon us! I personally love coming up with party themes that are not commonly used, so with the help of Vanilla Gift, I decided to throw an “Oh the Place You’ll Go” graduation party. This classic Dr. Suess book perfectly captures all of the possibilities of what could be next for a recent grad, so it is fitting for any kind of graduation party, whether it is a high school senior, a 5th grader moving on to middle school, or even a Kindergartner about to start their scholastic journey.
The iconic artwork on the front of the book inspired the soft pastel color scheme of the party, which was pulled in throughout the handmade details, sweet treats and whimsical balloon garland. I’d also like to mention that party was decorated entirely with items sourced from Amazon, Target and a local grocery store, so it would be super easy and inexpensive to re-create!
To start, I made sure I had a new copy of the Oh the Places You’ll Go book that I could also gift to the recent grad, then I sourced details like an aqua graduation tassel, rainbow cupcake wrappers and 2021 graduation cake and cupcake toppers. I accented the front of the table with a balloon garland incorporating all of the pastel colors on the cover of the book. For desserts, I kept things pretty simple by picking up a small cake and cupcakes from a local store, and then added in some dishes filled with jordan almonds for another pop of color.
But hands down, my favorite detail of the party was the graduation cap card box, perfect for gifting your grad a Vanilla Gift Card! I think it goes without saying that every grad loves receiving gift cards and cash to help give them a head start on whatever they plan to take on next, whether it is college, travel, living on their own for their first time, and much more. With most purchases happening online these days, Vanilla Gift Cards make the perfect gift because they are accepted anywhere and everywhere that takes Visa.
Thank you Vanilla Gift for sponsoring this post, and for making gifting so easy for all of the recent grads in our life!
