Fall is in full swing in NE Ohio, and with the temperatures dropping, there is nothing I love more than a good bowl of soup! Today, I am sharing an idea for a fall chili bar in partnership with Drees Homes that not only looks good, but also makes dinner a breeze since everyone serves themselves.
You can bet that at least one night a week in our house, I am whipping up a hearty soup for my family to enjoy for dinner. What is great is that a fall chili bar is perfect for a cozy family dinner for just a few people, or you can easily double or triple the chili recipe to feed a crowd for a Sunday football game, or other fall gathering.
When setting up this fall chili bar, I started with my tried-and-true Southwest Chili recipe that I have shared on my blog before (you can find it here). Then I used a variety of bowls to set out fixings for the chili, like sour cream, fresh shredded cheese, chopped onions and crispy tortilla strips. To give the chili bar a little decorative flair, I printed a Chili Bar sign that I found on Etsy, and added a fresh seasonal floral arrangement and scattered around mini pumpkins. And last but not least, I included a basket freshly baked corn bread, along with bamboo bowls and serving ware for the chili.
I am grateful to have teamed up with Drees Homes to share this simple idea for falling in love with entertaining in your Drees Homes kitchen this season. As many of you know, my husband and I recently built a home with Drees Homes, so I have been a frequent visitor to many of their model homes in the Cleveland area. As you can imagine, I jumped at the chance to style the kitchen in their Crocker Woods Finley model home, which features a modern gas range, sleek gray cabinetry, earthy backsplash and ample counter space for styling a seasonal fall spread.
