Fourth of July is just a little over a week away! If you ask me, this patriotic holiday is the perfect excuse to gather together with friends and family for a laid-back outdoor BBQ!
If you’ve followed me long enough, than you probably already know that I like to keep the food simple at the parties I host. So for today’s post, I have partnered with Heinen’s Grocery Store to share an Americana Fourth of July BBQ Made Easy. With the help of my local Heinen’s, I was able to create a summer BBQ menu that was not only delicious, but took under 30 minutes to prepare for 6 people.
The trick for saving time the day of the party was buying ready-made items, such as marinated kabobs and prepared salads for two of the side dishes. I also made Roasted Mexican Street Corn, which simply required adding a garnish once the corn was pulled off the grill. For dessert, I assembled buckets with s’mores fixings that guests could toast on the fire after dinner.
You can see all the details for my simple summer BBQ menu in this post on Heinen’s A Fresh Take Blog.
As for the decor for the party, it was a blast coming up with ways to incorporate patriotic details without going overboard. When working with a popular party theme, such as a Fourth of July BBQ, I always try to come up with ways to put my own spin on it.
I used navy star napkins from Pottery Barn as the jumping off point for my tablescape. I covered my patio table with a blue wheaton striped tablecloth and used galvanized metal chargers, white dinner plates, classic silver flatware and blue water glasses for each place setting.
I knew I wanted a pop of red on the tablescape to tie in the Americana color palette, which I brought in through the florals. The centerpiece from Ashley’s Florals was created with fluffy white peonies, blush garden roses, deep red ranunculus and soft greenery. I also added a single red ranunculus on top of the folded napkin at each place setting.
For a little extra flair, I suspended a vintage ribbon American flag behind my patio dining table to fully bring the Americana theme to life. This particular flag was rented, however a traditional American flag could very easily be swapped in its place for a similar effect.
And because every summer party should include popsicles and a festive signature drink, I decided to combine the two and serve prosecco with an upside down raspberry popsicle for the adults and I used soda instead for the kids.
As an American, Fourth of July is a holiday I especially take pride in celebrating. I loved putting together this Americana BBQ post and hope that you enjoy reading some of my tips for summer entertaining made easy. However you choose to spend Fourth of July, I hope it is a memorable occasion!

Thank you Jaclyn! The popsicle mocktail / cocktail was the perfect treat on a hot summer day! And honestly it tasted just as good whether the popsicle was still frozen or melted!
