With a few last days before my kiddos head back to school, I am doing my best to “squeeze” every last drop out of summer. We are a baseball family through and through, and this summer was especially good to us, with lots of memories made both on and off the field. But with summer now winding down, I wanted to share one of my favorite parties I had the opportunity to style this season!
This pastel lemonade stand party was hosted in honor of a very special birthday girl, Denver, who partied with her sisters Dakota and Demi, all while having the moments captured by Brittany Gidley Photography.
Denver’s mommy requested the lemonade stand theme and I instantly envisioned soft pastel colors, fresh details and trendy sweets to pull the look together. I started by finding an adorable printable lemonade sign on Etsy, which I knew would the perfect jumping off point for the lemonade stand. I kept the styling of this area of the party relatively simple with a lemon table runner, lemonade drink dispenser, and bowls baskets filled with fresh lemons and greenery.
Next up, I styled the lemonade themed sweets table. I knew I wanted an extra pop of color, so I created a soft pink and yellow balloon garland that I draped across the front of the table. I enlisted White Flower Cake Shoppe to create the adorable cake and cupcakes that featured pink textured buttercream and edible lemon accents. A lemon art piece and fresh lemons and greenery helped to complete the look of the dessert table.
I think what I love most about a lemonade party theme is that it can be done on a budget and still look totally put together! While I did splurge on the custom sweets, most of the rest of the decor featured props that I already owned (like the drink dispenser!) as well fresh fruit that I simply picked up from the grocery store the morning of the party.
For anyone who is planning to host a lemonade stand party, here are a few tips on how to style it like a pro:
- Pick a color scheme that compliments the lemon yellow and stick to it! While this may seem obvious, carrying the same colors throughout all of the party details helps to make an event look cohesive and polished. I personally loved using all pastels, which isn’t always done for this theme.
- Use fresh lemons and greenery to fill in any extra white space! One benefit to choosing a lemon party theme is that you can easily (and inexpensively!) pick up fruit from your local grocery store to use as decor for the party!
- Check Etsy for printable decor. I swear this is one of my best kept secrets! I always check Etsy to see if I can find existing printable signage for a party theme I am styling. I love when I come across a piece on Etsy that I can easily download and print myself, which helps to save time and money in the party planning process.
- Utilize stands and party props to create varying levels of height on your lemonade stand and dessert table. I am fairly certain that I use white glass cake pedestals in nearly all of my parties, and many times, they aren’t even holding food! I simply like that the stands help to create balance and visual interest in my party designs, and help draw attention to the aspects of the decor that I want to stand out, such as the cake, or a jar of fresh lemons.
Thanks for taking the theme to read more about my Lemonade Stand Party. I am so glad I got to squeeze in one last summer post before transitioning into more fall focused content!
