Well, last weekend may have been the unofficial end to summer, but I decided that there’s no reason summer party themes can’t continue a little longer! Today I am excited to share details from an adorable Let’s Flamingle Pool Party that I styled in honor of a sweet girl’s 1st birthday, with the help of Brittany Gidley Photography!
In my opinion, a pink flamingo party works year round, but I did especially love being able to style this party outdoors next to a gorgeous private pool filled to the brim with glitter beach balls and a giant flamingo pool float!
Now on to the party details! I used a gold bar cart as the main focal point for the desserts and decorations. At the center of the cart, I displayed a flamingo cake that was OUT OF THIS WORLD beautiful. A Little Cake created this masterpiece, complete with pink buttercream frosting, white chocolate “feathers” and a custom flaming head cake topper sourced from Etsy. I accented the cake with a Flora the Flamingo book and a flamingo stuffed toy that the birthday girl could keep after the party.
I didn’t want the other dessert to compete with the cake, so I decided to just add on some store bought cupcakes that I decorated with flamingo toppers by Meri Meri. In fact, I loved the flamingo line by Meri Meri so much that I also purchased the matching dessert plates, napkins and mini flamingo piñata to use for the party too. Shout out to Bonjour Fete for being a one-stop-shop for all of the party decorations and paper partyware I needed to pull together this flamingo party theme!
One of my favorite parts of the dessert display was the pink tropical floral arrangement by Rosaspina Floral. I accented the florals with some pink feathers, and used small bud bases to place loose florals throughout the display as well. Other accents on the cart included a pink letterboard sign that read “let’s flamingle”, Flamingo Sugarfina candy cubes, some apothecary jars filled with pink jelly beans and coral shimmer gumballs and of course, a One Stylish Party Balloon Garland.
While the rest of the blogging world may have already transitioned to fall content, I can never turn down the opportunity to style (and share!) a pretty pink party. I hope you enjoyed my take on a flamingo party theme! Happy Birthday Kaleia and thank you to your parents (Sarah and Kevin) for letting One Stylish Party be a small part in celebrating your special day!
