We’ve teamed up with Give Gifted, a local Cleveland business that creates unique, hand-crafted, personalized gifts, to bring you a post that is jam packed with ideas and inspiration for holiday hostess gifts!
Whether you are attending a Friendsgiving, spending the weekend at a family member’s home, or sharing a holiday meal at Thanksgiving or Christmas, it is always nice to bring a little something that shows your appreciation to the host. Planning holiday meals and hosting guests takes a great deal of prep work and organization, so a thoughtful gift that expresses you acknowledge all the effort and love the host put in goes a long way!
A lot of times it is easy to feel overwhelmed by what to bring, so here are a few tips for putting together a meaningful hostess gift this holiday season:
- Choose your vessel. A gift bag, box or basket are all great options for hostess gifts because they come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are easily accessible at almost any store if you are tight on time.
- Include something to drink. From a bottle of wine (ours was selected from Vinley Market!), the host’s favorite beer or liquor, or hot cocoa or coffee, we like to start our gifts with a beverage. It’s a great anchor for building a themed bag or basket and makes the rest of the gifts that go with it easier to choose!
- Include glasses or mugs that go with the beverage you have chosen. We generally like to include 2-4 depending on the gift recipient.
- Add something to eat or snack on. Who doesn’t love a snack with their beverage? Handmade chocolates, holiday themed cookies, and local gourmet popcorn are a few of our favorites to include.
- Tie it all together. We always love to add one last, small touch. Whether it is a fresh air plant, succulent or small planter to holiday themed napkins or tea towels, having one gift for the host/hostess to keep is such a nice way for them to remember the occasion by. If the gift recipient is a close family member or loved one, a framed photo of you and them together is always a great touch as well!
Remember, there is no right or wrong when it comes to hostess gifts; the key is just that it comes from your heart! Here are a few examples of themed hostess gifts that help take the guesswork out for you.
