Whoever said an office baby shower can’t be stylish apparently doesn’t work at AMResorts…or have such a creative group of co-workers, (including me!) to help throw their shower.
The Marketing Manager at AMResorts, Lauren Marino, was recently showered with gifts to prepare for the arrival of her little bundle of the joy. She is one of the few people I’ve ever know who choose to wait to find out what she what she was having until after the baby was born.
When planning for the shower, the first order of business was to come up with a theme that was gender neutral, yet still a personal reflection of the mommy-to-be. For anyone who has ever met Lauren, one of the first things you will pick up on is that she LOVES her hometown of Wildwood, NJ. Then again, who wouldn’t have found memories of growing up a block from the beach?
We decided that a beach inspired baby shower would be a perfect fit for the occasion. Everything was pulled together with a soft aqua and light yellow color scheme which was carried through in a lot of the shower details.
One Stylish Party created a custom, hand ruffled “BABY” banner to hang above the dessert display table. To coordinate with the banner, I made pinwheel cupcake toppers that featured light yellow chevron and soft aqua Moroccan patterns. To add some whimsy to the event, I also provided two fluffy tissue pom poms which were displayed on the gift table.
Other details of the shower included: sand and seashell mason jar centerpieces, salt water taffy and fudge straight from the Jersey Shore (of course!) a boy or girl guessing game, delicious s’mores cupcakes, beach bucket cup of “sand” dessert and more!
Lauren was absolutely glowing and so excited to celebrate this new chapter in her life with all of her co-workers. I’m happy to report that Baby Marino officially made a grand entrance into the world on September 8, 2012 and….it’s a girl! Congratulations Lauren and David on the birth of Melania Lucia!
