Goodbye summer and hello to the new school year! Labor Day weekend marked the unofficial end to summer and the beginning of a new school year. There is no doubt that back to school looks much different this year, but we are doing our best to make the most out of our new way of learning.
In an effort to celebrate back-to-school, as well as to get our boys excited about learning, we decided to set up an at-home learning space for them to use to supplement their in-person learning. Although our school district is offering in-person learning, we anticipate that our boys could be learning at home more often when cold and flu season hits later this year, so we thought it would be best to plan ahead so we already have a learning space ready to go if and when this happens.
Both of my boys are sports enthusiasts, so I decided to tailor their learning space to incorporate all of the things that they like, such as basketball, soccer, football and baseball. I started with a basic white desk and white shelving system for organization and storage. Next, I displayed a magnetic basketball score board above the desk as the focal point. Then, I added in organizational details like a calendar, clock and cork message board. I finished off the space by displaying some of their sports trophies, pennants and photos.
Regardless of whether your kids are learning in school or at home this year, I hope they have a safe and healthy year! Thank you Vanilla Gift for sponsoring this post, and for making back-to-school shopping and gifting as easy as ever with their pre-paid Visa gift cards.
